Core Beliefs and Values
Judaism tends to emphasize more on ones actions rather than belief however, a rabbi known as Rambam created a list of thirteen principles of faith. These are:
Judaism also follows the ten commandments given to them in the Torah which are similar to the principles created by Rambam.
- God exists and God is the Creator
- God is one and unique
- God is incorporeal (not composed of matter)
- God is eternal
- Prayer is to be directed to God alone and no other
- The words of the prophets are true
- Moses' prophecies are true and Moses was the greatest of the prophets
- The Torah and the Talmud were given to Moses
- There will be no other Torah
- God knows The thoughts and deeds of all people
- God will reward the good and punish the wicked
- The dead will be resurrected

- Worship no God but me
- Do not make idols to worship
- Do not use the name of God for evil things
- Keep the Sabbath day holy
- Respect your father and mother
- Do not murder
- Do not go with anther man's wife
- Do not steal
- Do no accuse anyone falsely
- Do not envy what other people have
